Interlaken Post-Fire Recovery Work Day

October 11 @ 9:00 am - 2:30 pm

In the aftermath of the Interlaken Fire in Twin Lakes, burned ground presents a significant risk to recreation infrastructure, reservoir capacity, and downstream water quality. Join ARWC and our partners as we work to design and implement strategies that reduce sediment runoff and protect critical resources.

During this work day, we will hike out to the Interlaken Burn Scar and build erosion-prevention structures from natural materials found on site.

Where: Interlaken Trailhead (39°04’27.2″N 106°18’36.6″W) – There is cell service here, but the final stretch of the road is bumpy.
When: Meeting at 9 am on Friday 10/11
Considerations: Be prepared for a long day in the field. Bring a lunch, extra water, sunscreen, solid boots and work clothes, gloves, and a hard hat (if you have them- we will bring extras). The sites are roughly 1.5 miles from the trailhead; we will carry tools.
